Ronald McDonald Family Room Sydney Children's Hospital

A welcoming space to rest and recharge

When your child is in the hospital, being close matters. Our Family Room offers a peaceful space for families to rest, recharge, and care for themselves, just moments from their child’s bedside.  

Staffed by compassionate volunteers, our Family Room allows you to step away from the clinical environment of the ward and into our warm, welcoming and comfortable homely space to enjoy a cup of tea, have a snack/meal, take a short nap, shower or launder your clothes. 

Amenities and Facilities 

All services are complimentary: 

  • A kitchen stocked with nutritious meals, snacks, tea & coffee and baked goods
  • Room/space for naps, short breaks and rest 
  • A comfortable lounge and dining area  
  • A quiet space to catch up on work or take calls 
  • Children’s toys and activities 
  • Laundry facilities with a washing machine and dryer  
  • A fully accessible bathroom with shower and toilet (towels & toiletries provided) 

 

Who can use our Ronald McDonald Family Room? 

Families of children receiving care at the Sydney Children’s Hospital are eligible to use our Family Room. Registration is required upon entry. 

Operating Hours:  

Monday-Friday: 11am-3pm (core hours) plus other opening hours across the full week.
